What movies have you seen recently?

Postby willgorgor » Tue Sep 01, 2009 9:16 pm

The title is pretty much self-explanatory.
So what was the last movie(s) you've seen. This can be a pretty good place to check out some movies
you haven't seen.

If you can, maybe you can use just one word to describe whether you liked the movie or not, for example: very bad, bad, mediocre, average, good, very good, great, recommended, funny, very funny, depressing etc.

In the last few days I have watched these movies in this exact order, they are
all thriller/horror/slasher movies:

- All The Boys Love Mandy Lane - confusing, but was alright.

- Last House On The Left - good movie

- Eden Lake - great movie, but extremely depressing.

My girlfriend want's to watch a comedy now

^ Eden Lake is a really good movie, I liked it as well ^^
About Last House On The Left, I heard it's good, I'll try to watch it ASAP ^^

Last movie I watched was "Up" (yeah I'm an animator so I need to see everything 3D/2D animation movies lol)
It was such a cute movie, and quite sad somehow, remembers me of my grandpa ^^

I'm planning to go watch "The Ugly Truth" tomorrow and "Inglourious Basterds" on friday with my boyfriend <3
I love Tarantino's movies, hope this one will be good as well.

I'm more in a drama-addict period lol

I've heard great things from my friends about Inglourious Basterds and Up, but i'm not really a big fan of CG movies, I can't even remember which was the last one I saw. Although i'm planning to watch Resident Evil Degeneration, the blu-ray is sitting on my shelf for quite a while.

Watched The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor a couple of days ago.
I've always been a big fan of "The Mummy" films, but this one was kind of meh. Biggest dissappointed; No Rachel Weisz! What happened?! No one can replace her as Evy. The story was kinda boring, the action was tame, you don't really "get to know" the new characters and where's the damn mummy?
John Hannah (playing Evy's brother) was very funny though.

YAH! how dare they replace Evy. the new one looked so old, argh! it was such a disappointment. the movie sucked. i watched it in theatres too! i should have watched wall-e instead (they were out the same time while i was in hk).

anyway, i think it was last week, where i had a movie marathon at my friend's place. we watched totoro, jurassic park part 2 and some old steven chow comedy. yea, i know they are all old movies, but hey, no chinese person would get sick of miyazaki hayao animes and steven chow movies, lol.

okay, i also watched Jaw 3 on tv...i got scared despite how crappy the effects were then.

btw utena, do you like miyazaki's animes? are you gonna watch ponyo?

^ I watched it when I was in Japan, they were really crazy about it, the song was airing in everyshop you go lol
It's a cute movie, but definitly not my favorite Ghibli movie.

I personaly prefer "Howl's moving castle " ^^.

I watched an horror movie yesterday, "The Descent". It was a bit weird but the realisation is damn good.

Watched yesterday :

Inglorious bestards : good movie, I always enjoy Tarantino's movies
Final Destination 4 : cheap realisation. Worst movie ever. Even the 3rd was way way better.
I'm a bit pissed that I had to pay 7€ for that shit. I should have just gone watch another movie lol

That's 50 euro cents cheaper than here lol.
What a bummer, but yeah, it's never a good thing to pay for something that you don't like.
Btw, did you watch the 3D version? Anyway, hope you'll watch a better movie next time and just
forget about this one.

well, it's 7€ for me since I'm a student, it was 6.50€ for students last time I went there (last month?)
For non-student ppl, it's 8€

I didn't watched the 3D version, those 3D glasses give me headaches :/

^ IC, its 7,50 here at the local movie theatre, which is smaller, less grand etc.
Standard price is 8,80 when you go to the bigger theatres and for students it's 7,30.

I think it's so much nicer in France, not only talking about price, i'm sure not everything's cheaper, but
i'm talking in general, just much bigger and more stuff to see and buy.
France has this for a start, so France wins :D :
